Burgoo American Bar and Restaurant marked the family’s first restaurant hop for the year 2012. My sons were in the mood to pig out as they love nachos, pastas and pizzas. Through playing the hand game “Jack ‘en poy” (rock-paper-scissors hand game), Yahmir’s choice of Burgoo won over JM’s preference of Gloria Maris.
The first time we ate at Burgoo was in their Tomas Morato Branch, and that was I think two years ago? Ahaha, memory gap. I was not yet an active food blogger then that’s why I have not taken any pictures of our past restaurant hops. This time we tried their branch at The Block SM City North.
For starters, JM and Yahmir ordered an Extra Supreme Nachos. It was composed of crispy corn chips topped with taco beef, pico de gallo, jalapeno slices, grilled chicken breast, and black olives and served with cheese sauce.

Then while they munch on the nachos, my husband I ordered a Large Stone-Baked Pizza Supreme with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, bell peppers and onions.

For a pasta dish we tried Seafood Au Gratin this time, oven baked in foil with fresh shrimps, calamari, mussels and clams, cooked in pink sauce and Bucatini pasta, grated with mozzarella and parmesan cheeses. The Bucatini pasta has a hole in the middle.

We also requested for Shrimps and Ribs Platter. It was a mouth watering combination of barbecued baby back ribs and Cajun spiced fried prawns. Served with U.S. fries and grilled corn on the cob.

I am the only one who is fond of desserts, so I ordered a slice of strawberry cheesecake. I was amazed of its big slice. I asked my husband to help me finish it, it was really a huge serving.

The ambiance compelled us to stay longer as we devoured on our meal. The added service charge to the bill is worth of the good service they provide.

As expected, we were satisfied again with our meal at Burgoo. We were not able to finish the Pizza so we took home the left-over.

I never been to burgoo. i have been to a lot of resto during my 2010 vacation to Phils but never blog about and not even took pictures of the place and food for reviews.
i tried burgoo before and food was just ok, too bland for my taste so my first experience was also my last one. but we enjoyed doodling on their table while waiting for our order. =)
Burgoo is a bit expensive for me. I've eaten there once with my siblings though and the cost was worth it. I'll prob go back!

I have yet to try burgoo because my family is not a fan of american food. =(
What I love most about this place is the crayon and the fact that you can doodle to your hearts content while waiting for your food.
