Pomelo is one of the best and major fruit crops of Davao City. It is also known as Citrus maxima or Citrus grandis or “Suha” in Filipino. We usually eat only the fruit pulp. Only recently, I came to know that the peel can be used to make a marmalade, or is candied and sometimes dipped in chocolate. Moreover, the peel of the pomelo is also used in Chinese cooking.
I am very grateful to have friends who never cease to forget me whenever they travel places. Just a week ago a friend of mine called to inform me that she had brought me a pasalubong from her recent Davao trip. My family and I really enjoyed eating the sweet and succulent fruit. It was very much different from the ones that I have been buying in the supermarket. I also shared some of it to my Mom who is a pomelo lover
